STUDENT Writing Project

PR for People® is actively seeking middle school and high school students to write Op-Ed articles about topics covering civil rights, civil disobedience and activism. These articles will be published in the April issue of PR for People “The Connector” Magazine and on the PR for People News portal.

Description: The stories can be of the students’ choosing so long as they feature issues or opinions, but not products or companies. The Op-Ed article is industry jargon for “editorial page," or “opinion editorial.”  Essentially, an Op-Ed is a well written prose piece expressing the author’s opinion on a given topic. 

APRIL | Bad 
“When to break the law.” Good cop bad cop, Civil Rights, Civil Disobedience, Activism, Politics and Spin. 

 

Here are the requirements:

  • One Op-Ed column

  • Deadline is March 31

  • The Op-Ed is a minimum of 400 words and maximum 750 words

  • Send your article in a word or text file to patricia@prforpeople.com

Qualifications Required: Student writers must be able to write clearly, research thoroughly, and pay attention to detail.  Students must submit their photo, and a brief bio (50 words) along with their Op-Ed piece.

What do students need to apply? Students are urged to study our news portal prforpeople.com and our news room for past issues of PR for People The Connector. Please email your article (Op-Ed column) by March 31, 5pm  to Patricia Vaccarino, CEO of Xanthus Communications and PR for People® patricia@prforpeople.com.
