Monir Zandghoreishi has Got “The Look”

In the fashion industry, Seattle is a well known incubator for startup apparel companies and up-and-coming designers. Now Monir Zanghoreishi, Program Chair for Fashion and Fashion Merchandising at the International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT-Seattle), is the power behind the new Seattle-based fashion reality show called The Look that takes ten promising designers and puts them through the rigors of four creative design challenges. The winner of the final challenge gets the grand prize of $10,000, media coverage and the opportunity to display the winning collection at Nieman Marcus.

Monir Zandghoreishi (pronounced Mo-NeerZang-or-eh-shee) has long been the mentor behind many promising young designers.  Aside from being the Program Chair for Fashion and Fashion Merchandising at IADT-Seattle, she is an experienced and highly respected couture designer in her own right.

Monir is a former Regional Director of Fashion Group International (FGI-Seattle). For many years she has been a champion for young designers who are long on talent but short on funding. According to Monir, “The Look is a way to give promising young designers a chance to win the funds and media attention that can grow their business.”  The Look, a locally televised reality show featuring Seattle area designers, will be viewed exclusively on King5 (NBC affiliate) on the award-winning “Evening Magazine” show.  For more information about exact airing times in your market, please see www.thelookshow.com.
