 If I take a look at the people who are in my life—and that includes all of you—then this is the moment when I can express great gratitude. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.


On Gratitude

Remember, not everyone has loved ones to count on or a stable income, or has a place to live.  A lot of people do not even know what it feels like to be invited to someone’s home for a Thanksgiving celebration. A lot are stuck at home unable to travel, to sick, elderly, or perhaps their family has died leaving them with no one to count on.

Before rich brocade draped somber white,

Adorned crystal goblets and bowls of forest green,

My heart ladled your graced reflection,

And, I was home...again.

Neither Black-out cake nor Pecan pie

Sugar-coated, drenched sweetness,

Could tempt my hungry, widened eyes,

Stirred by familial laughter.
