“Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next.”  Gary Gruber-Mai talks about this, love or money and immigration challenges.

Monkey See, Monkey Do

We must understand that there are real consequences to misconduct and find ways to demonstrate the enduring value of personal and institutional integrity.  We lack good models right now for doing what is right.  An obvious step to moving the scale back to better outcomes can be found in the power of the vote.  All is not lost if citizens step out to vote and try to ensure that all votes are counted. POINTS OF AGREEMENT IN A POLARIZED AMERICA

Sometimes, in the din of mindless chants of “drill, baby, drill,” it’s easy to think that no one cares about the environment anymore.  The Trump administration, almost daily, cuts rules, regulations, budgets, agencies (or changes their purpose) established decades ago to protect our land, water, air and resources.  And yet my recent travels and exchanges, related to my new film Econoclast: Herman Daly and the Gospel of Growth (www.econoclast.film) give me hope that all is far from lost.

The Economist also predicted “Democrats have a three in five chance of taking the Senate,” an outcome that is relatively rare. The president’s party lost control of the Senate in only two of the last five midterms in 2006 and 2014.

On the Ground in Washington D.C.

The desecration of our country’s capital by Donald Trump reflects the destruction of our democracy, history, national treasures, culture and protections.  One can barely see the White House since it is now surrounded on all sides by a 9-10 foot impenetrable black fence (yes, he finally got his wall).

America’s Debt is Accelerating in Trump’s Second Term

The wealthiest 20% of us receive interest payments from the government for holding that debt. The rest of us pay directly through our income taxes and receive no direct monetary rewards.
