"Fleeing the Fates of the Little Rascals” is a charming memoir

Laura June Kenney’s “Fleeing the Fates of the Little Rascals” is a charming memoir, in earnest, that omits the day-to-day, nitty gritty reality of being a child actor. While the Christian Science religion looms largely behind the scenes, the memoirist provides little depth about her belief system. The book is readable and relatively fluid in its storytelling, but the author is too darn nice. Anecdotes about movie moguls, celebrities, relatives, and even her first husband (whose name is never mentioned), feel sanitized and a bit too precocious. Too much has been left out. The real story has yet to be told.
