I felt as though I was sucked into a poorly rendered dream, which I resisted because of the uneven prose: some imagery was well-crafted and seductive, while many verses crackled with the rhythm of clumsy poetry, so I began to see this book as a dream belonging to an emotionally disturbed narrator—a middle-aged woman who had desperately longed to be Lolita but had failed. -PV
