Le Yin, Principal Dancer and Teacher, is from Nan Chang, China. In 1989, the Beijing Dance Academy auditioned several hundred children in his hometown and he was one of only two children who were chosen. Le Yin began his formal training at the Beijing Dance Academy and continued his training with the Houston Ballet Academy. When he first arrived in Houston, he was only beginning to learn to speak English. Soon he became a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet. From 2002 until 2007, he was a principal dancer with the Pacific Northwest Ballet and performed lead male roles in Swan Lake, Cinderella, Dracula, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cleopatra, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, Lux in Tenebris. Biography

Le Yin, Principal Dancer and Teacher, is from Nan Chang, China. Le Yin began his formal training at the Beijing Dance Academy and continued his training with the Houston Ballet Academy. When he first arrived in Houston, he was only beginning to learn to speak English. Soon he became a principal dancer with the Houston Ballet. From 2002 until 2007, he was a principal dancer with the Pacific Northwest Ballet and performed lead male roles in Swan Lake, Cinderella, Dracula, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cleopatra, Le Corsaire Pas de Deux, Lux in Tenebris. A 1998 Princess Grace Award winner, Le Yin brought his outstanding talent, incredible strength, grace and athleticism to Coppelia. In 2009, he joined the PNB School faculty and continues to perform as a guest artist with ballet companies around the world. He performed the lead in International Ballet Theatre's 2010 Don Quixote and performed in IBT’s 2011 Giselle. In his spare time, he likes to relax with video games, loves to cook, play pool, and go to ballgames. His wife Rachel Foster is a principal dancer with PNB. He describes his role as an instructor as a matter of teaching both the physical as well as mental focus: how to present oneself; how to show yourself, and how to connect with the audience.
